As Nancy says, there are many benefits linked to it. For carb "busting" I think you need to drink 1-3 T in a cup or more of water BEFORE you eat the carbs or immediately following. I have tried after the fact by many hours and felt the results were so-so. It can also help with weight loss stalls. You actually get used to the taste and many folks drink it as a daily tonic but only using a teaspoon or 2 in a large glass of water.
