If you have been on a diet plan for a few months, you should have been eating less food than before you started the plan. Just continue eating moderate amounts of food when you start Atkins. That should help prevent any weight gain. I think you will find that you will experience some water loss and then quickly start burning fat. So don't worry about gaining. You will find the Atkins diet plan quite satisfying, and you should not experience the cravings and ravenous hunger that is such a temptation in other plans. My appetite so quickly diminished that I found myself pushing my plate away before I finished it; and subsequently servings smaller and smaller portions each week.
