I land on the balls of my feet when I run. The achilles is your first impact zone, the knee is second. This is our natural shock absorption technology. When you land on the heel, the leg is straight and the impact is much harder on the body. Now you are relying on the cushion of a sneaker to support (not only your weight, but )the impact your body makes (which is probably 4x greater.
