I think this article was very satisfying. And as usual, Gary Taubes writing is clear and to the point, even though the article is very long.

To me this article was BIG. It also points out that we can affect CRP with diet, but that heredity could stack up a few points against us. I don't have diabetes in my direct line, but I have a great-grandmother and second cousin who had it. And I have (or had) most of the other indicators. In my favor, I have lowered my blood pressure and reduced my weight by over 10%. Now I would be interested in getting my CRP measured.

There has been more and more published that tends to debunk the importance of cholesterol levels in heart disease, and this is one more.
