I think the main reason you want to give up caffeine is because it can stimulate the appetite. But really its an individual decision on if you give it up or not. I can be done though, I use to have to have 3 mega cups of coffee in the morning to wake up. Went cold turkey when I started Atkins, and suffered through the withdrawals along with the carb withdrawals. Now I am coffee free! I am wide awake in the morning, without any help! It is amazing. But I know coffee addiction is almost as bad as a smoking addiction. I gave it up once years ago before. Once you start communing it again, you end up right back where you started from.
