CAD & DIABETES

Has anyone here done CAD/CALP who has diabetes? Wondering if the RM causes problems with BG?

Ms Arielle Tue, Oct-09-18 11:36

Im not diagnosed with T2, just in the borderland before that designation.

CAD spikes my cravings for more carby foods. I can only eat one CAD RM meal without triggering a binge. Back to back days of RM causes a total off the rails SAD gorging.

While I do not have the blood tests to show it, How can the blood glucose NOT rise? IMO the level depends on what foods are eaten and how much of each type.......

For ME, CAD does not work. Though I do know I can get away with 1 SAD treat now and then.

Your mileage may vary.

Thanks! I really appreciate the impute. I think I will just have to check my BG closely to see what happens.

Im hoping a few of the CAD/CALP followers who are far more knowledgeable will post.

I know quite a few people who have/had diabetes and followed CAD. As long as the RM is kept relatively balanced and took GTF chromium they did well and lost weight. A handful of those were on this board.

Some got to goal, some controlled their diabetes for years...some gradually lost control. YMMV.

Hi, I have been pre-diabetic for years. Following CALP with a daily calorie limit, and at one point, having lost over 200 pounds, kept me pre-diabetic. I firmly believe that if you balance your RM, it can be a helpful plan to follow. But, testing your BG, seeing your response to certain meals and kinds of carbs, will be your best guide!

Thanks! That's pretty much what I think too. But I will keep testing BG to see if I need to make any corrections to meal plan. I may be overdoing it a bit on carbs at RM and need to watch that closer.
