October 2019 Daily Weigh-In - Everyone Welcome!
This is a friendly and supportive group. We celebrate victories, both scale and non-scale. We cheer for you for keeping on going in the wake of adversity. We wait patiently every day with you who have slow losses. Everyone is welcome to join right in at any time. Start by putting the date and then your weight. Each day, copy and paste your entry from the day before and add that day's weight. (Hint: an easy way to do this is to hit "quote" in your previous post, then delete the quote tags in your new post. This will preserve any formatting and smilies you had.) It's a good way to keep a record of your progress. |

I'm often cold when I'm in good ketosis. Someone FINALLY has a plausible explanation…
"It's your Brown Adipose Tissue. In cold acclimation it becomes more insulin sensitive and uses blood glucose as emergency fuel for generation of UCP-1 in BAT Thermogenesis. When you are keto-adapted glucose availability is low and BAT uses dietary amino acids (protein) for that purpose but as there is no storage in the body for amino acids they are used as provided by diet." (from a post on reddit I found when googling 'cold keto') |
