grams to an ounce?
my label says a 1 cup serving size or 240 ml. How many grams is that?
|
A millilitre (ml) is a measure of volume not weight. 1 ml = 1 cc
1 cup IS 240 ml The US is on the old Imperial system (but in smaller US units) while Canada, UK & many other English-speaking countries work in metric now, along with Europe and most of the rest of the world. |
But how do I put in a liquid measure (either cups or ml) in as grams which the program requires?
|
You just need the weight of that cup. The weight of a cup will differ from one substance to the other. One cup of shredded lettuce is a lot lighter than one cup of oil, etc.
You can use a scale, or get the weight from the label. If neither is availble, compare it to something similar. Wa'il |
For almost all liquids, a cup will weigh 8 oz.
8 oz is about 227 grams. |
Here's a nice summary of the issues in converting volume to weight:

Thanks for the help!

Be careful though. The above is for ounces, not fluid ounces. I'm guessing shakes list the the fluid ounce size (fl oz). Wa'il |
There's a new link on the custom food entry, that will list many of the common conversions, including a couple of fluid conversions to weight.
