totally yummy snack

Hi! A yummy tummy snack I Used to LOVE and am about to make this weekend for myself and my husband that are both on the diet.. its bacon liver wraps.
You defrost the livers (if you can buy them unfrozen even better), after completely unthawed, soak the livers in soy sauce over night. The following day you wrap the soaked livers in bacon and hold with tooth pick. This can be very messy. You can then put in oven or the VERY best is grilled. You can do this same recipe with chicken breast cut up into small square bites and soaked. It is sooooo good. can be used as a main course too.

Rumaki

I use to eat this all the time growing up. Most will turn there nose to it, but ours also had a Water Chestnut in them. Yum.

Not sure on the carb count for Chicken Livers.

Remaki

My mother used to make this when we were kids w the water chestnut and they are delicious. I had forgotten about them. I would serve them over a bed of sautéed broccoli slaw or cabbage. Thanks for reminding me. Lots of good protein and I've been craving something a little different.

Rumaki! A nostalgic delight. Must make some soon!

You can add some minced garlic and ginger to the marinade, too. Maybe a little dry sherry if you have it, a few drops of Sweetzfree or a little Splenda.

These are great hors d'ouvres for a social gathering BTW.

Wow... awesome ideas! I have chicken livers and I have bacon (of course!)

We used to eat this too, before they discovered meat and fat are bad for you. (NOT)

My husband (who will gladly eat cervelles and lamb heart and sweetbreads) would LOVE if I made this for him after so many long years.
