Anyone else over 80?

I posted my aging woes on the "Back to Basic" thread.

I am now living in a senior residence facility that offers 1) independent living, 2) assisted Living and 3) memory care. I am still independent.
We can have animals and there is a small dog park where residents take their dogs for exercise. We also have activities as well as two dining rooms for in house dining or take out - mostly carb based. We also have an exercise room and exercise classes.

What I have noticed is the wide range of infirmities and fitness among the residents. Women in their 90's running up and down stairs taking their dogs out for walks and participating on exercises. Others, like me, bound to walkers or electric wheel chairs. (I have had 4 failed knee replacements)

I do my own cooking usually so I can stay low carb. But I have found my tastes for foods have changed considerably as well as my reactions to food.

I am looking for information on ageing and taste changes in low carb and what to do about them. Carbs still take good - proteins mostly blah or cause GI disturbances.

Thanks
