Edinburgh confirmed 31st January 2004

The guest house is booked for Christine and DH, and Myself and DH for the 30th and 31st of January 2004, It is also booked for Pauline and DH on the 31st of January 2004, we have booked the en-suites but there are still 3 rooms available all double, 1 of the rooms will sleep four as it has a double bed and 2 single, and the rest are just double beds, so if people dont mind sharing you can bunk up and share the cost!! these rooms are 52 per night , ours are 60 cause of the en-suite. The name of the guest house is The Mardale and the telephone number is 0131 2292693.

I dont know how many of you are coming but if there is no room at the inn, there is another guest house they work closely with called Robert's Guest house and the telephone number is 0131 2292652, he only one street away from the Mardale...So come on get your names down and get booking you can come for either the one or 2 nights either way it will be great to meet everyone who is going to come!!

The Mardale is on the internet, not sure about Roberts, they are both about 1.5 miles from town which is aboout a 15-20 min walk or if you cant be bothered with walking it is also on a major bus route.

Hi Lynda

Well done. Can you put the weblink to the Mardale in so that when others book they can see the location.

Not sure if I will be coming or not. The ones that are booked all have DH's. Whilst I'm quite a confident person in myself, I've done very little socialising in general and my skills in this department are pretty poor. I know I need to do something about this, but not sure if this is the right starting point!!!!

Hi Lynda,

Just to let you know will see you all on the 30th, booked the room online and it worked out at £70. Off now to check out that 20 quid wine voucher offer they sent for answering their question.

Take care, see you soon

Hi Lynda,

Sorry that wse couldn't make the 2 nights, but we'll leave here early on the Saturday and it shouldn't take us long to get there. I'll have to have a coffee in Jenners mind . The January sales should still be on too.

I'll speak to you later.

lburnikell Wed, Nov-05-03 08:26

ooh do you think me and you are a good combenation in shops, and with christine there as well it dosent bear thinking about!!!
Don you get free chocolate in Jenners with your coffee?

Hi All

Having seriously looked into coming I now realise I can't. Brownies have to take priority and it is Church Parade on the Sunday morning! Of course my Friday evenings, apart from in school hols, are already taken as well. One of the joys of being a volunteer!

Oh well, my thoughts will be with you. The far from Stanstead was not bad.

Hi guys - I've just seen this post about meeting in Edinburgh - I work in the city although I live about an hours drive to the south in the Borders. It'd be great to try to meet up with you all - I'll keep up-to-date with the post and see where you are all planning on going.

Anne - aside from the fact that Edinburgh's a great city (although do bring your winter woolies in January) it would be so good if you came along. I won't be there all weekend or anything but of all people who have given so much help and inspiration to people on this site you must be up there at No 1.

Hey - there's now something to look forward to in January!!!

Hope to see you all then

OK Anne my post was timed badly!!! It is a shame that you won't be able to make it but maybe we could have another meet in the summer which you could make.

The temperature is only just below freezing in Scotland July - that's when we all get our shorts and tee-shirts on!!!!!!
