I like this message to transition away from LDL and lipid metrics to metabolic markers in determining the quality of one's health. The persistent LDL focus remains puzzling when one peels away the layers to learn that it is inconclusive other than for those who beyond age 60 start to benefit from higher LDL in regards to decreased dementia, heart disease, and quality of life.

Just today I ran into a "public health announcement" about the importance of treating high blood pressure. Yes, it's dangerous, but treating it medicates away a symptom and ignores the cause.
We can point in any direction to see that, and that is just not MEDICINE. It's not HEALTH. It's making lab numbers go down, but that is essentially meaningless if you are taking a drug to make that happen. |
