Salad cream...

Are we allowed salad cream or is there too much sugar in it?

There was something else and i can't think for the life of me what it was......grrrrrr stupid brain!  :doah:

oh...is elmlea cream any good or should we get the proper stuff?

I'll post what ever the other thing was when I remember....getting too dizzy these days!

With regard to salad cream - look at the label. You might be better off with mayonnaise (full fat - Hellmans is OK).

Use real cream - double cream. The other stuff is higher in carbs.

Hi Kelly :)

In general they do advise you to steer clear of salad cream. You can easily make your own mayo if you want to be sure of no added sugar (I'll be putting a recipe in my journal at some point if that helps)... by adjusting the quantities, its very easy to make more like salad cream than mayo.

Or, as Robert says, there's always good old Hellmann's! :)

By the by... congratulations on the progress. Looks like you're doing really well!

Still got my eye on the Sunderland shop though, there's a certain lady up there i need to have a word with

This site has some amazing garlic mayo

http://www.halzherb.com

they also sell herb packages that you mix with your own favourite mayo to make fantastic dips, next time I go back there I'll be buying up the shop!

Oh and the herb bath sachets are really, really excellent too.
