Ketones & Glucose Lowering Effect

Good information and research from Dom D'Agostino. He's associated with some valuable work moving us forward to better understanding of the roles of endogenous and exogenous ketones:

The report itself is here: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/11/10/2330/htm
There is a lot of data but my take is that, if I wished to lower blood glucose levels by taking ketone supplements, I would first try a ketone ester with MCT oil added.

Good point. I look at ketone supplements as candidates for exceptional health issues that need the extra dosage not able to be handled by endogenous ketones. While I've always preferred to produce my own ketones by a very low carb approach, I can see the role of exogenous ketones to assist in many health issues or to give one a boost in a T2D or general Insulin Resistance situation.

The interesting part of research like this is the confirmation that ketones are beneficial as indicators of improved glucose/ insulin control no matter how you get them.

A very good read. Thanks for posting. A daily one for me in the morning is a tablespoon of MCT oil.
