If you want to start with the app now, you could purchase the Unlimited challenges, and ask Marty to email you the app link. No need to use the FB group page…that is for community support if you want it. Then when the group moves to the non-FB network, (planned for early 2022, Rob). you could decide if that platform would work for you.
Also in the planning stage… at the moment, the DDF program only contains the spreadsheet. Marty will be setting the app up in the new year with a self-guided program that doesn't require the challenge for support. the DDF program is ideal for people who aren't on FB. |
Just want to report that I am having great success with DDF. Using my blood glucose level to determine when to eat is really working. I have lost a few pounds but that's not really my focus although I started out with a goal of losing 5 pounds. I want to stabilize my blood sugar and develop a reliable hunger gauge and that is happening. I've done this while increasing my carbs slightly and decreasing the amount of fat I eat.I was already eating a lot of protein (learned that in the Masterclass). It seems to be working. I am beginning to be able to detect true hunger as determined by blood sugar level. You can teach an old dog new tricks.

That is so exciting! I love it when there's always more to learn  |
I was doing really great until I got a bit crazy eating peanuts. Had a small binge. Now I feel like I'm starting over again. Also, I injured my hand and wrist and I'm taking NSAIDs and have to eat at times I'd rather fast so I can take my pain pills. So the last week I haven't made much progress on the scale. But my waking glucose for the last several days has been under 100! That is progress!

Good news. Thanks. |
Nancy, congrats on the waking BG! Mine is stuck right around 100, 2 over, 2 under…the extra digit drives me crazy.
Did you take your BG after the peanut binge? It may be a food that could work for you. It's more fat than protein, I have to be careful of the amount of any nut, but this is a good time to check some of those previously forbidden foods. All of Part 5 in the manual on What to Eat has tips. [QUOTE] WHAT to eat [FAQ Part 5] Data-Driven Fasting helps you solve the WHEN to eat side of the nutrition equation. You can make a lot of progress just by waiting until your blood glucose fuel gauge indicates you need to refuel. To minimise ‘overwhelm’, we recommend you focus on chasing your trigger in Hunger Training until you feel you have mastered the process. But eventually, WHAT you are eating becomes the limiting factor, and it can be helpful to understand how the food you eat affects your blood sugars and how to dial in your food choices to ensure you are giving your body what it needs to maximise satiety, tame the blood sugar rollercoaster and deplete the fuel in your system, so you are ready to eat again sooner. |
Ohhhh, so close to onederland!!!!
.4 to go! Here's hoping in the next couple days I drop below 200...loss so far is 37.1 lbs. Not seen below 200 since July 2019. |
Ohhh…I’ve got my Pom-poms ready for Onederland! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
The moderator Dorrie, who lives in India, slipped into a 25 BMI this morning…her Fitbit calls that Ideal, not just plain Healthy. Her Fitbit history went back to 2015! It really is amazing that members not only break through long standing stalls but except for little breaks in between, keep going. You will be there soon! |
Finally, ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the same weight for a week and finally, below 200! 199.2 |
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
That is such exciting news! A milestone not seen in over two years. Congratulations! Please share in the FB group. |

Awesome! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: |
How would you follow this program if you work a job that doesn't have flexible eating hours?
|
What do you do now for lunch, assuming you work days?
One option is to make the meal you eat at work your "main meal". Fixed time, do not need to test BG. Testing BG only before "discretionary" meals. The last two weeks of a four week challenge, members are given various options to consider and test what works for them. If your waking fasting BG is high, then skip breakfast, eat your lunch without testing BG. If you eat a big breakfast and lunch at work, you may try skipping dinner. Many options are presented and you decide what works for you based on your BG. |

   Great news! |
In yesterday's DDF Live video Q & A, Alex announced there that all challenges, Masterclass, recipes, cookbooks, as of 1/2022, will be on Mighty Networks. The public group will remain on Facebook for marketing to new users, but there will be a new platform for the entire community linked together. This is the same network Robb Wolf uses for his community, so many advantages to leave the FB distractions. If you are signed up for the next challenge or first Macro Masterclass, it should be a smooth transition.

Good news.

Nancy joined the October Challenge and posted her great results on the General Low Carb sub-forum. Although the DDF techniques work with any diet, many of the members do eat low carb, so good to share results there.
Link to this new thread on Challenge results: https://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=485070 I lost another 3 pounds, now a total of 75 pounds since starting LC in 2010, 38 pounds with DDF and Nutrient Optimisation. Success story has details. The last challenge for 2020 starts Nov 20th, and Baselining for US members will be extended through the Thanksgiving holidays if you wish. ;) |
WTG Nancy and Jey100! I'm joining Nov!
|
Good news Thud! How was the last challenge? The details of the optional Thanksgiving hack are:
" **The ultimate Thanksgiving recovery hack** For those of you in the US, we were thinking that DDF would be a cool way to help you negotiate Thanksgiving celebrations. 1. Enjoy Thanksgiving. 1. Continue baselining through Thanksgiving (you will learn a LOT). 1. Delay starting hunger training until after the partying has finished (and the leftovers are gone from the fridge). 1. Enjoy the quick guided recovery back to normal blood sugars and weight, ready to look trim and svelte for Xmas." |
This hack looks good. Last challenge I didn't even log into the FB feed. October was not the greatest for me I. It's supprising tho with all the carbs I was consuming my general BG was still not skyrocket high. However, my morning readings were always too high for my liking (over 100mg/dL)
November is going good. I've reset my baseline Nov 1 and am currently working it down. Morning BG, and LB trending DOWN, Attitude trending UP :) |
I love finding new podcasts, and enjoyed this new to me one about DDF and NO with Paul Burgess from the UK. Paul completed a DDF so was talking from experience.
Then when I checked earlier shows, there are five episodes going back a few years! The recent episode is #176, covers satiety, fasting, many topics good to review. Quote:

Holy Cow, a Cyber Monday deal for UNLIMITED DDF for only $59. And today, there will be a deal for the UMLIMITED DD Macros and Micros Masterclasses.
https://www.datadrivenfasting.com/ddf-unlimited Since yesterday, the moderators have been testing Mighty Networks, the new community for all these class platforms starting with the Jan 8 Macro class. Color me confused…I don’t even understand half the features, but then I ignore most of what is on Facebook too. But it does have Topics, which will function more like sub-forums, and threads. |

That's a great deal. I'm an unlimited member and looking forward to DDF in 2022. I sincerely hope the new platform provides an entry way for new people to experience and share DDF that FB could not, and that it becomes user friendly. In many cases, these improvements take some time, so patience is the keyword in this case. As mentioned many times before, I believe DDF combined with Naiman's P:E approach is a great combination. Understanding one's reaction to food and eating times is a very powerful and simple way to keep blood sugar low and to control insulin release. It allows people to become insulin sensitive based on their unique metabolic responses. Good stuff. |
Even better Cyber deal….. The Unlimited DDF Micro and Macro classes. Each is now 4 weeks long, 10!! of those each year…forever! This is more information than the previous program and for much less cost. $97, reduced from $197.

Jey100, Yes I'm in this challenge but not losing this time...lol.
I've been stuck at 198 for several weeks now...maddening... :( d |
