Atkins and pregnancy

My husband and I seem to have done a 180 and are feeling like maybe our family isn't as complete as we thought - we've been discussing it for 6-7 weeks and we might be going for it ;) nudge nudge

But i don't want to go back to carbs and bloating and passing wind like a steam train ever again . . . can i low carb whilst pregnant?

There is no reason not to, especially if you are already eating LC. I am nearly 5 weeks post-partum and maintaining my LC WOE was the best thing I did for the health of myself and my baby. I would (will) do it all over again just the same.

Thanks!!!!! That's so great to hear - what level did you keep your carbs at???

And congratulation on your little one! :cheer: I hope everything went well!

Thank you! I usually keep my carb count in the 15-30 range, it's where I feel best. Prior to pregnancy it was always less than 15. I didn't change much with my WOE except that I quit IF'ing. I did have some sweet splurges here and there that I probably wouldn't have had I not been pregnant, lol. I do feel that remaining LC was responsible for how great my pregnancy went: no morning sickness, plenty of energy, little to no swelling, great BP, no GD, and just a slight weight gain, to name a few things. Keeping my WOE also helped me heal quickly from a bad laceration (my labor ended up being a little complicated, probably because I was induced which resulted in some other interventions :()
