I was at TGI Fridays and they have an Atkins

menu, and some of it is good for SB too. I had the spinach artichoke dip and instead of chips it came with fresh veggies! Awesome!!!!

That's awesome! Being new to this I haven't figured out where I can eat out so that's great.

I know! I think its great that restaurants are catering to special dietary needs.

Just remember that Southbeach is different from Atkins in that you are replacing the so called "bad" fats (hydrogenated and saturated) to good fats (olive oil and non trans fatty acids) Not sure I buy it but that's what the book says.

On the official southbeach site they say to be careful about "atkins friendly" foods. Alot of them have high saturated fats and are processed. I questioned this as I think that they don't want to support the competition. Who know's...I'm still learning myself.

Just remember to watch the gycemic index of the foods you are eating. That's the approach I'm taking. Any one else care to comment?
