Cauliflower is a definite YES and it's in the list of foods...

do you have a book or visited the site?

ElleH Mon, Jun-25-07 17:58

Yes, it's allowed. Your profile says you've read Atkins for life.
do you still have it? All the info is in there. :)

I'm personally interested to hear precisely what the person who said "no cauliflower" said. Can you remember their exact words/logic?

Nuke some frozen cauliflower til it is kinda soft. mash it, add some cheddar cheese, a little butter and a little cream cheese. Mix it all up and and serv with a grilled steak. you will swear you are eating 'regular' food! soooo good

Yes I remember her exact words. she said because the veggie is WHITE it isnt allowed. now she was doing atkins before me and she lost 20 pounds but eats a sub and cereal every now and then and is still losing weight? I wonder if she is trying to trick me? LOL!

on Atkins the color dosn't matter, the carbs do!

moggsy Tue, Jun-26-07 18:06

A lot of people over simplify low carb by saying "ban the whites" (referring to white sugar and flour). But as been said, colour isn't anything to do with Atkins (although you will probably be eating more colourful food) and being "not white" doesn't make sugar good.

Lots of whites are allowed on Induction. Cream cheese. Sour cream. Mozzerella. Fat marbling. Egg whites (along with the yolks). Cauliflower. Yum. ;)

"If its white don't bite" is the general diet rule of thumb, I saw that on Ophra so it must be true.
