Carb sensitivity and slow metabolism?

:q: My Doc says my thyroid is fine. He doesnt believe I have to eat less than 1500 calories a day or not gain weight. I can eat a LOT more if its not carbs. Very annoying as my wife and kids eat bowls of rice and pasta, bread-but little meat.
Has there been any studies on whether carb sensitivity is anyone else like me? :help:

If your wife and kids don't have weight issues and they eat carby foods like you mentioned, then they don't have an insulin problem.

You are probably insulin resistant from years of over indulging, like a lot of us here. Now you must keep your insulin in check. However many carbs you decide to eat, be sure to always eat them with protein and fat to minimize your insulin output.
