Visceral Fat and Sarcopenia - Quick Video

Dr Sean O'Mara posted a quick YouTube video about visceral fat, sarcopenia, and how to tell if either might be going on in your body. He's a sports performance physician, and I wonder if he sees serious visceral fat in a lot of his young athlete patients - probably a lot of TOFIs, especially if they carb load.

Thanks Kristine!
Dr O’Mara's talk at the Adapt event, How to Get Healthy, also good but longer. https://youtu.be/QbcV0l3zlLc

It is now three months since I did any of a usual weight routine...I’m zero muscle and a puddle of fat...or sarcopenia. Or Whatever, but it isn’t healthy.

Thanks Kristine and Jey - These are interesting talks. Back in the day one was told that they needed to lose weight if they could "pinch an inch" of fat that is, but Sean O'Mara explains how subcutaneous fat is not the problem and that's not the fat you pinch when you "pinch an inch" (although he doesn't talk about pinching an inch. That's my addition).

Great video - Thanks! I was TOFI - thin outside fat inside, and metabolically unhealthy.

Thanks Kristine and Janet. Dr. O'Mara is an excellent resource. During our present time of isolation, eating healthy is important and so is exercise. I do this HIIT routine at home, as it's short and can be extended with increased reps as you build stamina:

That dood looks SOLID. Maybe I'll look him up as he's in my neighborhood for some consults. Thanks for posting.
