It sounds like his goal is to piss people off. Silly, IMO.
|
Yes that approach gets so old.
I wish we had the equivalent of this book, for nutrition discourse: The No Asshole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn't |

Bearing in mind that the definition of an asshole is subjective! |
No, his intent is not to piss everyone off. He was just making the point that he will end up pissing someone off no matter what he says. It's more of a comment about dogma than anything else

Ha! I work in an academic law library. We need to order a copy of this book for our collection. |

So will anyone who says anything about diet and health. So what? It's literally impossible to write more than two or three sentences on the subject without having someone somewhere disagree with you. And some people get "pissed off" when they disagree. That doesn't mean you've said something "interesting or challenging." We seem to be living in an age of pissed-off-ness. Everyone's always pissed off about something and willing to make rude (and anonymous) posts all over the internet. I find it tiring. It makes it very hard to have a civil discussion about points of disagreement. And this blog post reads like he glories in it. In fact he seems to confuse people disagreeing with him with people being pissed off with him. I'm just weary of the constant rudeness in public discourse these days. Pisses me off! I also feel "outraged" and "offended." (Just joking. ;) ) |
If you go read the whole post he is actually very funny and he makes some good points.

Another mention of "needing" starch.
Maybe some people do. |

I might need to read this too! |

I read the excerpt on Amazon, then checked it out from the public library. Let's see if I actually find the time to read it. I have a pile of books right now that I'm going to read when I get a "round tuit." |
After reading some of the 3 star ratings, I decided not to bother. It sounded like it was geared more toward executives who can actually effect changes than those of us in the trenches. :p

Awesome book for the human condition
