I had posted the pre-print version of Dr Westman's Editorial on August 13th below, but that version has now been removed and the link is broken.

The links are great, but only if you're a subscriber, which costs $1,327 for a one-year subscription. Too bad. I would like to have read some of these. Dr. Westman is one of the healthcare professionals I most admire.

I would like to add that for me, the abstracts are often enough to get the gist of where the research is going, but I’ve also found that many times if you have the time and patience, the studies can be found elsewhere on the internet.

I'm not falling for psuedo-science. I'm not a "sheep." If the way I look and feel now is not compelling, here's some science.

(Yes, the irony of vegans calling me a sheep is noted.)

I agree WereBear. It still amazes me in this day and age people still call low carb dangerous. Nobody used those words in the 1980’s/early 90’s fat free era, when I was piling on the fat free sugar and white flour in my fat free cookies!

Likewise, I was restricting myself to 25 grams of fat a day, AND working out 1.5 hours a day. To lose down to 150. Which I thought was okay at the time.

And the reason I blew past my goal on low carb :wave: I've been an adult a long time and never got to my real adult weight :agree:

I was thinking about you earlier today WereBear. I had stumbled onto another one of those atrocious "articles" you find all over the place and it was decrying low-carb diets as not being sustainable and only good for making you lose water weight. I immediately thought of you and the fact that the writer of that "article" is basically saying you've lost 100lb of water. Umm okay. I'm gonna have to call BS on that one.
