Search Problems

I have noticed lately that ALC refuses to search for relatively uncommon words, even in a thread. I've tried numerous times to search for words I know I've used in my journal but I always get the same message:
Quote:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : phenomenon

I get this message, no matter what word I use or where I use it, in my journal or even broadbased throughout ALC. I never had this problem in years past.

What am I doing wrong?
thanks!

I've noticed that too.

This problem was explained recently in another thread here in the Comments Box section .. Search Function?

Nothing afaik. I have the same problem. I do run NoScript so maybe that's an issue but I refuse to stop running it.

My solution? I use google. Enter the following phrase into google then use the search functions to pare down the results: "phenomenon site:http://forum.lowcarber.org"

PS - Looking for "Why are female rats more likely to binge eat than male rats? : LC ..."? I found it by entering: "phenomenon sagehill site:http://forum.lowcarber.org"

I hope that helps.

Jenny, I've been noticing that, too. It won't search for ANYthing. I think it's broke.

I can't find a recipe I just made. I remember the poster saying her and her friends refer to it as JLSBP (just like stuffed baked potato) (it's a cauliflower casserole.)

So I searched "JLSBP cauliflower casserole". Got that message:
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search.
Hmm, I don't think JLSBP is any of those things... that's pretty specific! lol

Google it is. I forgot about that, I have done that before.

Good, I'm not going crazy. It's really annoying though.

For your convenience, I'll copy & paste the linked message which provides an accurate explanation about the ongoing problem with the search function :exclm:.

It's a time-consuming process trying to figure out exactly what's wrong before it can be fixed. It will probably be a few more weeks (?) before the webmaster feels confident to turn it back on. Keep an eye on the above-linked thread for any updates
