d-salad w/grilled chick olives (4) and sour cream
1 decaf w/cream
WATER LOTS OF IT

DAY 2

L-salad w/chicken, cheese (1oz) ranch,
d-crab (4oz) w/ butter...2 chicken wings
1/2 low carb candy bar (PMS) lol 1 gr carbs

Hi yvette or is that Myrtle :)

I can't believe 53 people read your posting and not even 1 even said hello. I'm a real turtle (or tortoise as we call them here).

I'm well and truly stuck at one weight.

I read your diet. It looks OK to me. How are you now? Have you lost any more weight. Maybe you should try excercise (that's rich comming from me I can tell you :p )

Best wishes,

Robert the tortoise

Hi Yvette -

Sorry things are going so slow for you. You may want to cut out the low carb bars and the nuts - both are known to stall weightloss for people then see how you do.

FYI - sticking to your WOE now really proves how well you are going to do here.

All the best...

Your diet

to me looks pretty high in fat. Sure, Atkins says you can have lots of fat, but you really need to look at how much you are eating. It was like every part of your meals had either cream, sour cream, or butter.

Remember that fat has 9 calories per gram whereas protein has 4 and carbs have 4.

I would calculate and see how many total calories you ate during all of that, at your weight, you may be consuming way too many calories.

Remember that calories DO count. The only way anyone loses weight (even those on Atkins or any other low carb diet) is to create a deficit between how many calories you consume and how many you burn.

If you are a lighter person you cannot consume as many calories as someone who is heavier. If you have a high fat to muscle ratio, then you cannot consume as many calories as someone who is more muscular. If you are sedentary and don't work out or do cardio, you cannot burn as many calories as you would if you were more active.

Low carb isn't a "magic" plan, it is still based on calories in vs calories out. Because protein is muscle sparing and not eating carbs doesn't spike insulin so much it can seem to work faster than other diets, but it still matters whether you have created a deficit or not.
