Flax Bread?
 
Judy, what do you think of Flax bread?
I found a Recipe for Flax Bread and was wondering if that would be ok to eat?
Here are the ingredients:
2 cups flax seed meal
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1-2 Tablespoons sugar equivalent from artificial sweetener
5 beaten eggs
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup oil
this is supposed to make 12 servings

I think its OK but portion control is key. If you eat this flax bread, this will use up your nut/seed allotment for the day. :idea:

There are also recpies for this same bread, to make it one serving in a cup and nuke it. I used to eat it but haven't in a very long time. :)

Thanks for the quick reply Judy!
I was just thinking for the days I feel like having some kind of bread, but cannot run to the store to buy the Fitness bread or any other ones. I rather make it myself and know there are no added chemicals in there to add to shelf life and such.

What is your opinion on Soyflour? and Nut Flour?
I am just thinking ahead for Phase 3. I know that is still a long way away for me, but I found a Recipe for Almond Flour Pound Cake that I would love to try when the time comes. I know all ingredients are Phase 2 Approved, but I rather wait till phase 3 to make the Pound cake. I dont want to go back to eating too much Flour stuff. LOL
I have been eating Whole Grain English muffins these last few days for Breakfast and I was doing good with no cravings, but I think I need to slow down on those and maybe leave the grains out. I got too comfy with it again and I didnt lose as much this week as I was hoping for. I am aiming for 2 lbs a week, and I know that might be too high a goal to shoot for, but the loss this week wasnt even 0.5 lbs :(

Truth for me is that any flour can be a slippery slope so I tend to avoid it most of the time. That goes for nut and bean flours also.

Yes, you need to not eat those english muffins daily and have them as a treat while seeking weight loss. Maybe only on the weekends or even less at once every couple of weeks.

Flour is dangerous for weight loss, even if it is whole grain flour.

Thanks Judy, I know you are right, for some reason I got comfortable and thought I could leave the Grains in my diet. I think that kind of thinking is what put me back in my position that all kind of foods are acceptable.
Back to a modified phase 1 for a few days :)
No grains for me for a while.

I try to think about grains as a once in a while food. I do not eat wheat at all as I find that it triggers my appetite.
I can eat a rye Wasa a few times per week as it really is as un-processed as a grain ca be and still be in edible form, as in really whole grain.
I can also have oatmeal once in a while too. no instant though.
Go for starchy veggies for now. :agree: :thup: We do not have to get starch from grains only.
