We could start 02.17.03

the excercise is a great idea. I have to get serious about my health and practice what i preach. I bought measuring cups, so i could eat only ONE cup rice or whatever starch.....i'll be Omitting bread also, and eating more fruit.

I plan to eat more fruits as my dessert, and I am experimenting
with a recipe for cookies which I am making out of all bran
cereal and flax meal together with a few other ingredents, so I can have those instead of my past desserts because I don't think I am getting enough fiber.

I usually use exercise video tapes, but I recently bought
the book 8 minutes in the morning by Jorge Cruise and I would
be trying to stick to his exercise plan beginning later this morning.

I wish us all the best in following our plan.

The irony here is that I need to exercise to lose weight, but my weight has caused me to have knee problems so I cannot exercise. Which makes it harder to lose weight.

Hi Diane:
The important thing is just some movement for now, as the
weight reduces it will get easier, I also have knee problems
which began after an accident two years ago, but It was much
worse when I was heavier, the important thing is to stay positive,
walking is one of the most natural exercise you can do, and If
you cannot walk outside, just walk in place to music or while
watching the television, even If its just 3mins you'll get better, and use the forum to stay motivated.

Hi lowco:
well here goes, I did my 8mins in the morning today
I am drinking lots of water, aiming for at least 8 glasses by the
end of the day. My RM was: tomato & cucumber salad with 1tsp
flaxseed oil
steamed broccoli and carrots with butter
small amount of pasta with cheese sauce
beef ribs
quater lemon in water with splenda
and two cookies (made from all bran buds etc)
and tea with cream

Lowco,

personally I have always liked to use exercise videos, I joined
a few gyms in the past, but I never stuck to them. But with
exercise videos I can do those In the privacy of my own space
whenever I like, and I am trying to do something everyday.
The easiest way I can suggest that's if you are not in to videos
like me, is just to begin walking, or just moving to some music
for a few minutes to start. I just began doing this 8 mins in the
morning this week (I bought the book) and I find its pretty
easy so far, basically it has to be done in the morning, like the
name says and Its two different weight bearing exercises, which
changes every day, it's basically alternating between the two exercise 4 times (sets made up of 12 reps each ) until completed,
you can check out the web site at www.jorgecruise.com thats If you are interested. I have finally started a journal thread, so I'll list my daily menus there from now on.
