Well, I said that one of my goals was to start my exercising this month. It only took 20 days into the month for my plan to kick in. Can anyone say "Procrastination" :D

Sunday July 21 (first day after 8 months! )

20 laps in lap pool! Yeah, I still have it! Well... almost.. It would be wonderful to be able to listen to music while I do laps! :(

Monday

Day off to recoop!

Tuesday

Didn't count laps, too many people talking to me. Talk turns into water aerobics... all is still good

Wednesday

Iris showed me her routine and kicked my butt with a smile on her face. The witch! ;)

Thursday

Day off to recoop! Ouwa, ouwa, ouwa..... :D

I feel great and I knew I would. Everytime I stop exercising and then come back to it I say to myself "why the heck did I stop?", cause I feel so full of energy when I exercise...

I went to the spa at 7:30 this morning... The spa doesn't open until 8am on Sat & Sun.... So, I waited until it opened, then I went in and got ready... walked around the corner to find the pool is CLOSED! It was only suppose to be closed on the 25th for maintanancing? Go to the desk and ask why pool is still closed... Girl says, they finished the work, but we are waiting for Albert to check the chemicals, but I'm not sure if Albert is comming in today! WHAT!!!!!!! http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein_1/angryfire.gif

I hate Health Clubs!!!!!! Why the hell wasn't Albert's ASS there to check the chemicals!!!! Why can only Albert do this SIMPLE task!!!! I'm so pissed I could scream... AAAAAAAHHHHHHGGGGGGGG! %~$#~%#$^%^#^#^%#$^%$!

Thanks Fern, I'm not pissed anymore... :D Still hate Health Clubs, but don't have my own pool. :( I went out and took it out on my yard and it sure looks good. :D Not the same exercise though.... Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to swim my laps, but I'll call today to make sure the pool is open.

I'm sure your yard thanks you!!!!

And I do hope that your health club pool is open again! Nothing worse than wanting to do a certain exercise and not being able to.

Hope you're enjoying the pool in this heat. :tears: <- sweat

There are no pools near me. When I win the lottery, my mansion will have a pool. :D

Enjoy!

No Pool! Aaaahhhhhh , what's wrong with you Canadians?? You must have too much winter on the brain! Texans can't ever put their summer clothes away. If we don't have one in our backyard, there usually is one in the neighborhood no matter where you live in Texas. I hope you win the lottery Kristine, soon! :D Not even in Health Clubs? :(

Today I did:

10 laps
50 tummy crunches
50 side winders

I have yard work to do, so I didn't want to spend all my energy in one place. :D

I bought some walking shoes and took a walk tonight with DH and dogs. I was very surprised with the fact my back was not hurting. Could it be the shoes? hmm... It was quite easy to do and I think I might be able to at least take a short walk every nite. Tomorrow Iris is going to drag me to a walking park at 7:30am. http://jagandcompany.homestead.com/files/Smilies/yikes.gif Gotta keep moving or I'll never reach my goal!

Thu, Aug-22-02, 09:27
Iris was on time this morning. I did a level 3 hike with DH and Iris and my feet are a bit pissed at me. They'll get over it.... I think... It took us about an hour and we stayed at a constant medium pace. DH and Iris could have walked faster and harder, but they love me and didn't want to leave me behind. :D My back felt great through the whole walk. Got to be the shoes!

Tomorrow, mucking out stalls and feeding and grooming horses. :hyper:

Went to the gym today and did some mild water aerobics and some laps with Iris.

We were going to go bike riding, but the bike shop didn't open till 10am (Iris's bike was in the shop) and my class started at 1pm. Not enough time to ride, eat lunch, shower and go to class. That's why we went to the pool. We decided to create a schedule for exercising together. This is what we came up with that works for both our schedules.

Monday, evening water aerobicshttp://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_Animals_1/bowser.gif
Tuesday, bike ride in the morninghttp://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Usersmilies/Rafael/03/Bicicleta.gif
Wednesday, evening water aerobicshttp://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_Animals_1/bowser.gif
Saturday, bike ride in the morninghttp://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Usersmilies/Rafael/03/Bicicleta.gif

Iris is a great buddy for this and we are in the same shape. (meaning we both weigh 300lbs) Except she is 10 years younger and can do it without serious pain payments the next day. Guess, I need to eat more advil in the beginning. :daze:

Well, I got up at 5am this morning and went out to feed horses then muck their stalls. I was moving and on my feet from 6:30 till 8:30. Then I came home and mowed my lawns which took another hour on my feet. My feet and back are screaming, but I feel good about the fact that I got all this done and it's only 10:30am. :D

Went to the Pool last night and worked out with Iris.

If the rain holds out we are going to try and do a bike ride this evening.

I rode my new bike http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Usersmilies/Rafael/03/Bicicleta.gif to Iris's house and back. Round trip is 3.8 miles! Wow! hmmm.... maybe I use to ride more than 45 miles a week. So, I'm not a mathlete. :daze: Checked it with my car trip meter this time. I had a meter on my old car and I'm sure I checked it with that too... Maybe my trip meter is or was wrong... http://jagandcompany.homestead.com/files/Smilies/yikes.gif
Ahh... who gives a damn! I rode my bike 3.8 miles today! :D

Thu, Sep-12-02, 20:43
Today I rode my new bike again for 3.8 miles, just like I did last night. Same route as I took last night. I'm loving it, but my arse is a very tender this evening.

I've felt very energized and healthy today. My body is a bit tight and I've been doing stretches all day. Must pace myself... I get too excited about things I love and I move on to zealot waaay too fast for my body's well being. These 45 year old parts have been on vacation for a long time. Baby steps, baby steps...

don't you love the back not hurting. For me I don't know if it was the shoes or just getting off my butt and moving. I like to think it was the shoes LOL.

keep at it have fun while you do it.

Hey there Greg  nice to see you here in my gym journal.

The shoes are still an incredible addition to my life. My feet have not been this happy in many years. I still get irritated when I think of all the years I spent in pain when I didn't need to. http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/forum/images/smilies/bonk.gif

Did the bike ride this morning and rode 6.7 miles! Wow!! Iris and I are going to be doing this every Saturday and Sunday morning from now on. We are going to try and fit in a ride or two durning the week when schedules allow. Again, why did I wait so long to buy another bike! http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/forum/images/smilies/bonk.gif

A word to lurkers from me.

DON'T WAIT TO DO SOMETHING YOU KNOW YOU LIKE!

IF YOU HAVE FOOT PAIN, TRY BIRKENSTOCK SHOES OR NAOT!

We rode this morning again, but cut it a little shorter. I thought it was shorter than it really is and I was very pleased. We rode 6.4 miles today instead of 6.7. DH started out with us, but soon turned around and went home. The two 300 lb goddesses left him in the dust. So, much for the power of the slim. He claims it's because he hasn't been on a bike in over 4 years.

I out weigh him by 130 lbs and haven't been on my bike in 7 years! :p

FAT CHICKS RULE!

ERSmith45

Haven't ridden since Sunday. http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Usersmilies/Rafael/03/Bicicleta.gif Did a 6.7 mile ride this morning and it felt good. Those killer hills didn't seem as painful as last Saturday (we skipped the arse numing, leg burning hills on Sunday) and it feels as if my body is taking to the biking with little argument. The pains I get from biking are livable pains.

My feet are doing great since the change in shoes, but I don't do exercise walking. Just normal day to day walking was painful before I changed shoes.

So, if I keep this regiment up I will be riding 32.9 miles a week by the end of this week. Not bad for someone who's been off a bike for 7+ years and weighs 130 more pounds than they did then.

Well, I'm happy to announce that I rode 4.7 miles last night with DH and 6.3 miles this morning. :D Iris's bike broke  in the begining of our ride, but we were able to get it back together so she could finish the ride. Her chain jumped track, then was possessed for the rest of the ride. It kept shifting from gear to gear. Took it to our bike shop and found out the chain was bent, which is why it kept shifting gears. We also got some advice on gear shifting and what not to do. Her bike's all better and our ride is on in the morning.

I did it, I did it!!!!! Iris and I rode 11 miles this morning in one hour! Ouwa, ouwa, ouwa my arse hurts http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein_1/bootyshake.gif, but oh how wonderful the accomplishment feels! That's a grand total of 41.7 miles for the week! Yeah!!!

Our goal is to do the MS ride to the coast next year this time. That's 150 miles in two days! http://jagandcompany.homestead.com/files/Smilies/yikes.gif I sure hope the arse toughens up before then or I don't know if I can do that.... Right now I'm running off of Iris's energy on that subject. She sure is a good partner to have right now. :D

We rode 6.7 miles last night and DH came with us. When we were finished DH said he didn't want to go with us anymore. Said we don't ride for the joy of it and we are maniacs. If I would have rode any slower for him I would have fallen off my bike! Iris told him that we are trying to lose weight, not take a stoll down the road. DH said we are no fun and he doesn't want to go with us anymore. :( Maybe now he will happily drive the pace car for us when we go on longer rides, but that will have to be once the arse gets into better condition.

We will be doing another 6.7 miles this morning.

Sat, Sep-28-02, 07:59
We rode 6.3 miles this morning, but felt very sluggish from last nights dinner. Hopefully tomorrow will not kill me.

Still feeling a little sluggish this morning, but not as bad as Iris. http://www.disciplesnow.com/interact/images/smile.jpg She has a serious case of the bathroom trots.
Went on our 6.7 neighborhood ride with DH instead of with Iris on the 11 mile country route. Just as well, my arse is not doing very well with this biking. Decided to use Prep H last night to see if it's the roids acting up. Bingo! Arse hole felt much better this morning. I could have done the 11 miles, but I'll have plenty of those in my future with Iris.

I didn't really want to go on a ride this morning, but good ol' Iris talked me into it. We rode 7.2 miles and took a few pretty good hills in the process. Prep H is the magic thing for my arse. Glad I didn't wait any longer to take action.

Hmmmm.... I must have forgot to enter my ride on November 18th.

Rode 6.3 miles this morning

I've decided to ride by myself as a rule. I need to do my thing solo in order to stay true to myself.
I'm such a sensitive piece of work when it comes to exercise! I plan on riding again Monday morning... taking it slow, so I don't do damage and sabotage myself. ;)
