Hello! I did Atkins back in 2011 and had great success for the 3 or so months I was on. However, I did not do it correctly and set myself up to fail long term. I ate low carb junk if it was within my carb count and didn't eat enough good carbs to stay energized during exercise (I was doing roller derby and running at the time about 4-5 days a week).
I'm getting older and want to focus on good health and lifestyle changes. I've gotten the lecture from the doctor about needing to lose weight and I don't personally feel comfortable in my skin. I'm hoping to start getting excited so when I get back from the beach July 27, I can dive back in.
I tried Atkins and Paleo a few months back, but it didn't last more than a few weeks. I'm hoping by having a support group, I can do as well as I did in 2011 because I had other people at work doing the diet with me. I can't wait to navigate more around the site so I can get my fire back and continue to stay excited throughout the process!
