I've just joined hello to all!

Just a little bit of info about me to start...was diagnosed type 1 diabetic two yrs ago and after eating a diet wildly high in carbs I've decided to lose the weight I've put on, get fit and learn to control my blood sugars in a much more manageable way.

I've had a lot to learn over the past 2 years and looking to share any knowledge I have as we'll as learning more from everyone here.

So, yeah....hi everyone :)

Welcome!
Read back in the Diabetes sub-forum, http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=45 there are posts related to T1D. You likely have heard of Dr. Troy Stapleton...his presentations clearly explain how he manages it and still provide details. I posted one there and just heard a more recent talk by him...maybe it was the NZ conference Jimmy Moore attended?
Also heard Sarah Wilson at that conference, although she downplays the LC aspect of her program, the actual menus in her Quit Sugar program are supposedly LC real foods. http://iquitsugar.com Oh, and I love Chef Pete Evans too https://www.facebook.com/peteevanschef
A friend's husband has newly diagnosed late onset D1 so I send them any info how LC might help that I see, here is a recent success story from the AWLR newsletter: http://www.awlr.org/blog/off-all-medications-for-my-life-long-diseases
