After having 3 children, then quitting smoking and then sitting down after becoming legally blind when I was 40 -- I found myself 100 pounds overweight in 2001. In 2003, I successfully lost 20 pounds in 3 months, which I gained back in 2004 during my husbands illness and passing due to cancer.
After that it took a long time for me to try again ... my weight stabilized ~ about 235 after a highest weight of 241 (but I also had a bit of edema in my ankles.
Two separate times I did induction for 3 weeks and didn't loose an ounce. I had read about natural progesterone, so I started that about 6 months ago. In May, I started low carbing again and the pounds just started falling off. I am proof positive that hormones can and do affect one's ability to loose weight.
I am now hovering about 205. I look forward to being encouraged by others and encouraging others in this lifestyle.
