Basically 2 questions, here. I've been LCing for about a month and I know that I'm burning ketones. I keep my carb count at or below 20g a day. I do a lot of bike riding, doing 30+ miles per ride, and can do so without getting hungry either during or after the ride. Mucho bueno! I'm planning on a long tour through the Shenendoah Mountains this summer and I KNOW that will take a lot of energy.

1) When I exercise, will my muscles burn glucose first, then ketones, or is it the other way around now?

2) If I increase my carb intake, will my muscles be able to use the increased glucose while exercising 6+ hours a day?

TIA

You don't need carbs for long term exercise. I eat less than 20 grams of carbs per day and yesterday I shoveled 32 tons of gravel.

No need to carb up.
