What happens if...

You have a high carb tolerance. Maintenance levels are 80-90 netcarbs. Naturally not a big eater when your blood sugar is good.

At goal weight.

Start an active job (walking 20 miles/day).

** Do you have to eat more carbs to survive?
** Would you just starve to death eventually if you don't raise your carbs?
** Do you have to increase your calories with protein and fat?
** Would your body start feeding on your muscles?
** Does your metabolism slow to keep your weight constant and no dietary changes are required?

I don't think you would need to raise carbs, but you would need to increase the amount you were eating. fat and protein will work just as well to supply energy needs and any direct glucose requirement increases will be handled by gluconeogenesis.

As long as you eat enough protein you should have no muscle loss and would probably build leg muscle.
