Sweet Pickles
1 TB salt
1 TB mixed pickling spices
1 tsp Alum
1 cup cold vinegar

Wash and cut cucumbers about 1/4-1/2 inch into quart jars. Add above ingredients in each quart jar and finish with water. Place lid on jar and store for 2 months. After 2 months, pull jar from storage (only as you need it) and rinse very well. Remove all the spices from the cucumbers while rinsing. Put cucumbers back into the jar and put 1 cup (I do about 3/4 c. ) of sweetener on pickles and let stand for 24 hours at room temperature, then place in refridge. It will make it's own juice in the sweetener. Ready to eat. Hope you enjoy. My first jar this year will be August 20. The remaining jars are good on the shelf for many months. These are so good. :thup:
