I know that I can lose weight on a low-carb diet. I used the South Beach diet for a few weeks and the pounds came off. Plus, at the suggestion of my best friend, who keeps her weight down using a low-carb diet, I read the Gary Taubes book, which is extraordinary. But I have difficulty not eating carbs because the kitchen in our office is full, constantly, of high carb, high fat, just plain bad food, LIke this morning, someone brought in huge bags full of Hardy's cinnamon buns and Hardy's biscuit breakfast sandwiches. It's really irritating, because it's always, always around.
