Welcome to the forums!

I recommend you start a journal and write down everything you eat. It keeps you accountable - to yourself!

How's the induction going?

Roosmom,

Look at this:

Many people have problems with what are called "FrankenFoods" Which are foods really in name only. Some people can tolerate the Sugar Alcohols and others can't.

It may not seem fair, but not everyone's body is the same.

Also, I don't know if you have one of the Atkin's books, but if you are going to be on the diet, I suggest that you get one. I personally like the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) which was updated in 2002 to include netcarbs.

Some personally like his book from 1972.

Both of these can be had for about 5.00 off Amazon or if you are lucky you can find it in a used bookstore for about 1.00.

Also start a journal here and and use MYPLAN to track your food. This gives you a tool which will allows others to see your meals that you are eating and make suggestions on what you can do to get into Ketosis.

Welcome! Good for you for figuring out what the problem was and doing what you need to do to get on the right track! You're better off without those bars anyway! ;)

I know I sure learned my lesson about the bars!! This time when I started I bought the dreaded bars and shakes and ended up gaining 3 lbs and took forever to get back into ketosis. Back in the 80's when I lost over 50 lbs in five months they didn't have all the frankenfood and it was so easy. I am going to do it the old fashioned way like Dr. Atkins prescribed and it is going great after having to reinduct.
