Hi, your site is very informative. I have a question. My girlfreind has started this diet. She is approx. 5'9 170. I am a graduate student in Pharmacology and obviously had some concerns, but what I can't figure out is why she has diarrhea for the past couple days and what she could do about it. One thing that may lead to the problem is that she began 5 days ago and takes in almost 0g of carbs/day. How can she remedy the problem. Would muli-vitimans or K+ help, I am not sure.

Hi Vince, welcome aboard. Zero or almost zero-carb is not the right way to go. Is your girlfriend following a book in her diet (Atkins, Protein Power, CAD etc.) or just on her own or word of mouth? It is very important to follow the plan correctly, as there are plenty of things to be aware of while following the plan.
