Hi, I've been low-carbing for 5 years and successfully lost 35 pounds the first year and kept it off until 6 months ago. My husband and I moved to Arizona a little over 1 year ago. I did ok for awhile but the mexican food is my downfall. Actually I'm letting it be my downfall. I've gained 6 pounds (not alot but I refuse to gain more). So, I've decided I need some support to get back on track. I travel with my job and have a big hurdle to cross next week. I'm going to the Furniture market for 10 days. The only food available to me from 6:30am to 7:00pm is catered food which is usually high in carbs. I can't bring my own as there are no refrigerators or a place to keep it. I've been doing this for 15 years. It is such a struggle, even more so since I've gained 6 pounds. I usually gain 5-6 pounds every market. I think just writing this strengthens my resolve to "Be Good"
Question: Can sugar-free Metamucil keep one from losing weight?
I look forward to reading the posts and getting back to my goal.
Thanks,
Nancy White

Hi, Nancy. Welcome!
Congratulations on putting on the brakes after 6 pounds. So often people fall away from low carb and don't stop until things are out of control. Good for you!
I'm sorry, I can't answer your metamucil question. I'm sure someone else can.
Traveling can certainly be a challenge, especially if the meals are pasta, macaroni salad, or even chicken salad when one doesn't know the ingredients. You sound as though you're aware of the challenges and will be able to plan around them.
All best to you. I hope you'll post often and let us know how you're doing.

welcome nancy! I applaud you for calling a halt at 6 pounds added--so many people gain all they lost back before they halt the bad habits and get back on LC.
Good to hear you've been such a success story for so long :) It's hard living LC in a HC world, I know--I hope you can keep developing strategies for doing so.

Welcome aboard!
You'll do fine - of that I have no doubt. You maintained for many years and got right on top of things when you gained just six pounds. That says a lot about your awareness and ability to stay the course.
I'm sure this forum can provide any additional boost you need - and, as you said, just taking the step of posting and getting involved is a major part of the battle.
Keep the Faith!
