Hi, is it true you can subtract the sugar alcohol from the carbs, as well as fiber, to get the net carbs?

Welcome to the forums! :)

Some people feel that they can subtract SA carbs from total carbs, but others of us find that they inhibit our weight loss too much.

This old thread (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=182859) has some good information about counting sugar alcohols, as does this article (http://www.phlaunt.com/lowcarb/19059967.php).

This link (http://www.innvista.com/health/nutrition/diet/salcohol.htm) has good general information about sugar alcohols, what they are and how they affect the body, but not much ... if any ... advice about whether or not to count the carbs they contain.
