:wave:Hello fellow low-carbers, This is my second time around on the Atkins program. Last spring I think I lost about 20 pounds. And, of course, I gained it all back. I wasn't really trying to keep it off, I was just hoping it wouldn't come back. But like a bad penny...keeps turnin' up! My husband is on it with me, he is just great about it, and he really drops the pounds. We started on the 5th of this month, and I have lost seven pounds. Gary has lost a whopping 12 pounds! We are in induction, and decided to stay in it longer than the suggested two weeks. I am kind of mad at myself today though, because I had gone to town to run some errands, and I was just starving, and I thought, gee, what can I eat? There's not much out in the fast food world for us lowcarbers. So I went to the local KFC/A&W and bought an order of cheese curds, and three chicken strips. I knew they would be over my carb limit, but I was so hungry I didn't really care. I am usually extremely good about stickin to my diet, but all we had for dinner last night was 1/2 cup of blackberries with splenda and cream. (cuz I was too lazy and tired to cook, and my husband said that would be fine with him, bless his heart.) So, when I got home i got on the web and looked up the carbs on what I had eaten, and the cheese curds had 16 carbs, I think, and the chicken strips, (3) had 25. I fessed up to my husband and am back in the saddle once again. I will pay for it in the morning when I weigh myself, though. I have been losing about a pound a day, so far, and that is pretty good, I feel. We have been talking about going off of it on Sundays, since we are going to stay on induction at least another two weeks. Just to make it more bearable. Well, I am so happy I found this site, so many nice helpful people here. I am looking forward to getting to know many of you, it's nice to have friends to lean on.
See ya in the message boards!

Welcome! It's nice to have you here with us! :)

Here are some links to some good recipes. You can find the Kitchen forum on this site here:

http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=2

At the top of each sub-forum (breakfasts, main dishes, etc.), there is a Sticky that lists all the Induction acceptable recipes in that category.

Another site with good recipes is:

http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html

All the Induction acceptable recipes there are marked with an asterisk (*).

Thank you for the links. Will check them out. Always looking for new ideas for meals, Kisal. Thanks hayes, for the warm welcome as well. Well, my indiscretion yesterday did not bite me on the butt as bad as I thought it would. I maintained my weight of 244.8 exactly! At least I don't have to back peddle now. Had eggs & bacon & zucchini blinis (George Stella recipe) for breakfast and a glass of crystal lite. Someone gave us about 20 pounds of frozen lake trout. How cool is that? Along with a big bag of frozen black berries. Have been eating those with cream and Splenda. 6 carbs to a cup on the berries. Now, what to have for lunch and dinner? Better go check out those new links!
