Hi and welcome.

tips:
1. Read the book
2. Keep track of what you eat
3. don't tweak too quickly--give it a chance to work
4. Don't be afraid of fat
5. Plan your meals so you never end up without low carb food close by
6. Never lie to yourself (like, fudging the amount of food you ate into your fitday or myplan)
7. Set realistic goals, and set a few so that you feel as though you are suceeding
8. Make sure you use both the tape measure and the scale, or if you're like me and suck at measuring, use test clothes to see yourself shrink
9. incorporate some strength training, walking, whatever you can do, but don't freak out if you gain a bit if you work out hard because muscle weighs more than fat (hence the test pants).
10. Enjoy the wonderful food

OH, and take a good multivitamin daily.

and uh... read the book again

Welcome to the forums! Nice to have you with us! :)

I recommend, as Pennink did, that you re-read your Atkins book. I think you might find it very difficult to remember all of the details after 5 years. Even if you don't intend to follow the Atkins plan, it would be to your advantage to read some book about a lc plan.

Best of luck to you!
