hello everyone

i only joined this site yesterday, along with starting my diet yesterday (dr charles clark high protein diet).
i think i will find this diet hard. i have tried before bbut failed, mainly because i like to go out and socialise with friends which, often involves drinking alcohol.
this time i am determined!

lookimg forward to hearing from some of you

Ello! Welcome....
Good for you for starting, but don't start out too afraid to fail! ... I have read from memebers of this forum time and time again since I joined that as HARD as it is to stick to your diet, it is even HARDER being fat... you wont know that for sure I guess till you get there, but I think the odds are pretty good it is true! And dont forget. There are a LOT of different LC WOE's out there, if the one your on is too hard... do some lookin around on the site, and asking some of the people with BIG losses under their belts... you will find the right one for you! Its all good... welcome!

Heidi,

You can also still drink when you go out with friends - it just has to be done in moderation and also instead of drinking martini's, drink diet pop with a hard liqour.

Good luck!

Heidi,
No offense, but it seems like you have a small weight loss goal, so maybe something like South Beach or good old fashioned Weight Watchers might benefit you as they have more options. I know you can plan for "cheat" days on WW and still enjoy your time with friends.
For this plan to be effective you should start with induction and alcohol is not allowed. More flexibilty might be the way to go.
No matter what plan you use, congratulations on making a healthier lifestyle! Welcome to the boards!

Welcome, Heidi! It's nice to have you with us!

I don't know anything about the plan you are following, so I can't really give you any advice about it. However, I do agree with Deb that it's best to select a plan that most nearly fits your lifestyle. You will find that it's much easier to stick with as a permanent wol.

Best of luck to you!

Welcome! You don't have much to lose but this place is very good support for any amount of weight. I did induction really strictly for the first two weeks and then loosely since then and continue to lose. I keep it under 20 carbs a day most days. I drink sometimes too. I have diet dr pepper and absolute (my favorite) at home and diet coke and absolute when I go out. I don't do it often but when I do, I stall because your body burns the alcohol first instead of fat. Just a little info to help you along. Good luck!
