Hi and welcome aboard!

Do you have Dr. Atkins' book? If so, there are lists of foods in there to choose from - especially during Induction. Always keep in mind that this is not a carb-free diet - it is a carb-restricted diet. You want to keep your carb intake (exclusive of fiber) between about 15g and 20g for the first two weeks and evaluate after that according to the guidelines in the book.

Be sure to eat enough calories and to drink LOTS and LOTS of water. Don't be surprises or discouraged if you feel lousy right about now - that is normal, expected, good and temporary. Once you get through the carb withdrawal (and perhaps other withdrawals) you will feel SO much better.

Best to ya!

Meat :)

Hi, Lisa! You just got the best advice you could get. Get the book and read it. There are lists of allowable foods.

You might poke around the site and read the low carb tips (link at the top of this page on the orange bar) and all the "stickies" that Karen has put in the Newbies forum. LOTS of great information there. Not only basic tips, like what foods don't have carbs, but other practical information, like, it's best to have real foods, not fake sugary ones, as a goal.

Welcome! Hope you tell us how you're doing.
