Sounds a bit .... too good to be true, to me. But if somebody have read the book and even tried it out I would really appreciate some info !

I saw this book on the shelf the other day when I was (finally) picking up protein power. It looked interesting so I read the cover and saw:

"Why you actually need to eat carbs to lose weight. (Nearly all modern diets get this one point wrong.) - Page 41"

.... and put it down because that's not how my body works.

IMO, I have a hard time taking diet advice from someone who (I believe on page 8 under "My Story") fully admits that he has never lost or gained more than 10lbs in his life.

But that's me. Our bodies are different. It may work perfect for you  I wish you the best on this.

I'm not far from my original goal, and have maintained the weight I'm at now for over a year. I'm NOT ruining anything with experiments or in any way plan to go for this kind of "diet". Lowcarb is my way !

I'm just interested in how it works and why it's supposed to be so fantastic. As I understand it's not only a weigtloss solution but a tool for better health. A friend asked me if I'd heard about it and I told her if it's sounds too good to be true, it probably is !

About the doctor and his own weightloss. I don't think he started this because he wanted to lose much weight, but the diet helped him overcome chronic illness. And the weighloss was just a bonus. He seems to have treated "thousand" of overweight patiens,- THAT I have some problems beliving . You should think he would be better known - in fact - he should be extremely famous if it works like he say it does !

Thanks for the inputs !

Our public television station has been showing a special by him lately. Check the schedule to see if yours is showing it....I'm pretty sure it's called "Ultrametabolism". I taped it but haven't watched it yet.
