I read (I believe in this forum) recently an article
that had links to LOW CARB studies that had been
done based upon the observations of an artic explorer
whose expedition had been trapped without food and
had to eat fish and blubber for 6 months til weather
permitted their escape.

There was a subsequent study listed that followed
up on these observations in a clinical setting.

Anyone point me to these articles? I can't remember
what thread it was in!

you can find the story, adventures in diet, by stefansson here:

the subsequent study, CLINICAL CALORIMETRY XLV. PROLONGED MEAT DIETS WITH A STUDY OF KIDNEY FUNCTION AND KETOSIS, can be viewed or downloaded here:

Stefansson wrote some interesting books about his time in the north. Check with you library to see if they have any.

Thank you gents for the
reminder of where to find
this interesting information.

I am going to bookmark it
in my browser for continued
review. It certainly tells a
tale about the viability of
the L/C diet as well as
the fact that you can do
physical exercise on the plan too.

Thanks again!
