metformin ?

I am suppose to take metformin before eating, however I am not exactly sure how early I need to take it for it to be effective. The pharmasist says 30 mins but I find that with 3 kids I sometimes forgot to either take it the 30 mins before a meal or that I even forgot that i took it and then forget to eat for several hrs. Does anyone have experience with metformin on this board?

My metformin bottle says to take with food, so I take it at meal times. You might want to check with your doctor rather than take medical advice from someone like me ;).

I have been prescribed metformin again today and my doctor said to take it after the meals because I may have problems with my stomach.
