Is there still room in your low carb cooking class?

If so, can you let me know how to register/send payment?

Thanks,

Hi Michelle,

It's been a while we haven't heard from you :) Please keep an eye on the Local forums, as we've just had a dinner gathering last weekend for the Vancouver folks, and Xmass eve is in the planning. So don't be a stranger :)

hey - thanks for remembering me tamarian :)

i know i haven't been around in a while - i have lurked a fair amount, though. i moved back to vancouver from victoria in april - i kind of fell off the lc wagon about that point. my whole summer was spent planning my wedding (in august) - you'd think i would have been following lc , but when i'm stressed out, i find it really hard to stay away from carbs (& anything else not moving!) so my weight hit a plateau, not near my goal weight, for my wedding. i gained a bunch back after the wedding, now i'm back on lc & motivated :D

currently reading protein power lifeplan (had read atkins new diet revolution before)

hopefully i can get in on the next vancouver social event!

 Finally, I can dazzle my friends with my LC cooking skills.

So.. does the 'surprise' dish have 'toefood' in it? (sorry Rachel hee hee hee hee) ;)

See you all soon.

No toe-food!

Take a look at Rachels journal. She has finally succumbed to the wonders of toe-food.

Hard to believe, but true!

My dh and I have already mark it down on our activities calendar. Can I bring my friend Dye? I think she will also be at the class.

Karen,

I live San Diego - any chance you plan to create a video or use the internet to teach a class?

I have an important dinner party January 6th and I am struggling with the menu. I am on a low carb diet and would like to make the meal low carb as well - and not make a big deal of it - just a great meal.

Do you have any suggestions? I thought I might pick up your cookbooks, however I need a little help on which would be the best for low carb cooking.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Under Low-Carb Recipes in the Orange Bar at the top of the page there is a whole section of my recipes. Most are pretty simple and very good if I don't say so myself. Are you looking for a traditional meal, i.e, meat and two veg, or something a bit more modern?

Have a look and if you tell me what you like, I can help you with a menu.

Karen,

I went out to one the links you listed here on your cooking classes and it said that all the classes were done for the year. Do you know when you will be starting back up again?

Cheers,

There's a few spaces left in the one at the CookSchool on December 8th. And as a matter of fact, a national network TV show will be taping it as part of a special they're doing for January. So if you want to be on TV, think about making the trip to Vancouver. :)

The whole shebang will start again after January 15th with two Atkins Induction classes at the CookSchool.

Hmmm, thinking about nudging DH into another trip to Vancouver to take one of your classes Karen! It would be either your January or February class though (we won't be able to squeeze in a trip before Christmas!) I'll let you know if we're coming again! It was so much fun meeting you last time, if I could take a class from you, it would be awesome!!

Take care,
Lily

Hi Karen,

I attended one of your previos low-carb cooking classes where you gave a recipe for a Caramel pudding that was made from silken tofu. I have misplaced it and was wondering if you'd be able to send it to me.

I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

Hi msecret,

If you get in touch with me through the Fish House - link is in my sig line - I can email the recipe when I'm back from vacation on January 17. You need to have 25 posts before anyone can send you a private message.

Karen - I'm going to fly up to Vancouver to find out what to eat for breakfast. If I don't rent a car and instead use public transportation, would I be better off taking the class on Feb. 24th at The Store For Cook's or on Feb. 25th at Cook Shop? (Which is easier to get to, more centrally located?) Thanks.

Karen

That's very cool! :)

The class at the CookShop is more central at 12th and Cambie. The other is in West Vancouver.

I'm new to this forum and I noticed Michelle's reference to a Vancouver social event. I live in Surrey and wondered whether this means there is a low carb group for thw Lower Mainland that meets on occasion. If so, I'd love to know more about it.
