Since I've been lurking for over a month, I decided it was time to come out of the closet, register and introduce myself... My name is MJ and I'm a SAHM to five great kids and one fantastic hubby!
I've been on Atkins for just over a month but this is my second go at it. I followed it the first time for a few months, but fell off the wagon pretty quickly. I liked the results, but just didn't have the willpower to continue. I lost 14 pounds last time and gained back only 5. This time I am proud to say, I haven't cheated ONCE, and am still staying strong. I only wish that the scale was being as generous this time around... I've lost 5 pounds in a month, but I'm not losing hope! :) And I know, pounds aren't the only thing that matters, I've lost 8 inches too!
I also started an Extreme Body Challenge at our local gym at the end of January. It's a 12 week program (well contest really) to help convert body fat over to lean body mass. The person who can change their numbers the most wins a spa weekend/makeover weekend away. I WANT to win! :D
I currently go to the gym 6 days a week, doing cardio every day and alternating my strength training. We get a new program to follow each week at our EBC meeting and have guest speakers come in to talk about different topics such as nutrionists, personal trainers, motiviational speakers etc. We'll be doing a mid-challenge weigh and measure at next week's meeting! Wish me luck! ;)
I've been popping on this website about four times a week to garner motivation and get answers to questions that most of us seem to have at one time or another... I am learning that I have to be patient with this WOL for the long haul... I was expecting the WL to be as easy as it was the first time, but I'm thinking now that slow and steady is better.
I just wanted to thank you for contributing to the forums, and that I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better!
TTFN!
