I'm thrilled to find all of you. I did Atkins for about three months last year and found it was the only diet that I've ever been on where I didn't get all of the low blood sugar symptoms and didn't stay miserably hungry. I fell off the wagon but desperately need to get started again. After nine months off of the regimen I have of course gained back the 25 pounds that I lost. I am 46 and started gaining weight after going through a divorce and turning 40....seemed kind of like a cruel joke at the time. I gained almost 50 pounds in 18 months. This board may be just what it takes for me to get serious again and get the energy that I've lost. I look forward to getting to know y'all and have just begun to read the posts.

Hey... there's nothing wrong with turning 40!! (I'm 43). I look at it this way, I made it to 40 and I am healthy!! Anywho.... welcome to the forum. It truly is great to have you here. I like popping in the "introduce yourself" and see people making a difference in their health by joining us. Make sure you take some time to look around the forum at all the different sections. Possibly join a challenge for the month or even start a journal, or gym log. I wish I would have started them when I first joined ages ago.... Take care, and again - WELCOME!!

Hi and Welcome! That was some pretty sound advise above! I thinks we all gain weight after 40. Thats why I'm here. I am on Atkins also and it works great for me, when I do it right! I also lost track and gained 13 pounds back but if you Stick with the diet and this forum and you won't go wrong. Good Luck

Glad to meet you! My plan is to do the Atkins again but add exercise which i didn't do last year. Stealing from Oprah's plan which I wouldn't be able to do, too much exercise and starvation, but I like the idea of at least making a 12 week committment no excuses, so that's my thought at the moment. Last year my motivation were those words that Dr. Phil always says, "How's that working for you?" and "What's the payoff?" Everytime I went for something I shouldn't have, those words would ring in my ears....it sounds like with me quoting Dr. Phil and |Oprah that I don't work out of the home...but I really do. My schedule fluctuates though and every now and then I catch one. This time I'm trying to tell myself....no excuses accepted. thanks again, Anita
