I remember a 12 stepping on the scale and seeing 130lbs, I don't think I understood the significance of that at that age. I also remember a doctor's visit for a check-up and the doc asking me if I ate a lot? I said "yes" thinking only eating dinner and nothing else was "eating a lot". My mom was with me at that visit and told the doc I ate very little, but somehow I got in my head some mixed up message about how to eat...shoulda listened to Mom. I was never a big eater, just because I wasn't hungry(or didn't think so): skipping meals became a way of life to me, and though I am grown now, eating at least 3 meals a day is still a slight problem I need to correct. I'm getting better at fixing it and fighting in my head to eat small meals every 2-3 hours. I'd like to see what others are doing and thinking as I work on me.

Hi!
I am actually new to the site as well, although this is my second time doing atkin's (fell off the boat when I got a little too lax). It doesn't seems to be working as well this time, but oh well, it IS working so I will just have to deal with it. I am standing up in a wedding the first weekend of June, so that is my main motivation, that, and just wanting to feel better about myself.
But I just wanted to say hi and good luck to everyone!

Howdy neighbor!
I've been off and on Atkins since 99', and found that if I eat enough carbs and cals for my body I loose a lb a day. Now, I've also incorporated drinking approximately 100 fl oz water and doing 30min Tae bo, and 20min Pilates and another 30min resistance exercising. I don't hurt myself with the exercising, but the mirror is showing the slightest bit of change in just 1 week. I think you have to pay strict attention to your body and what it's telling you. Maybe you need to eat more fresh veggies(up your carb intake by 5g) or maybe you should eat more chicken and fish or maybe try doing a little more exercising in a form that doesn't bulk you up, but gets your heart-rate a little higher. MAYBE you're in your cycle and like you said you'll just need to be patient. I think this site is perfect for seeing what worked for others or is working for others and tweaking the results to tailor your success.
YOU'RE A WINNER AND YOU KNOW IT WOMAN!!!
