Atkins got me down 100 lbs. I'm pretty fond of it... ;)
Anything I can do to help, just pop by my journal. I would suggest starting one yourself. Much easier for folks to respond to you.

atkins I would say is a GREAT place to start. go and look at their site www.atkins.com and then make your mind up if it's for you. I think it's a good place to begin, I have lost almost 50lbs on it so far

Thank you Sam...
I really want to try Atkins..I can eat vegies and meat I have NO problem...its the breakfast I find extremely hard..
I have at one point made a list of how to eat , but, I wasn't loosing anything and got discourage, so say I wasn't eating enough, or maybe I was eating too many fruits...3 a day..I have about 60pds I want to loose and this would be the perfect way of life for me, since I am gluten intolerant..that means most carbs...oh..I don't know how to use this site..but everytime I go see things..it tells me I am not allowed??? Thank you....Lynne

Lynne, go to the Introduce Yourself main menu and read the sticky on how to start a journal. Get yourself one and post there so it's easier for others to come by and help out. The "journal" button you see at the bottom of my post will get you to my journal. Feel free to drop by any time, but without a journal of your own people have to come looking for you to reply.
Fruit is not allowed on Atkins induction, although they are good nutrition in general, they are all high in natural sugars. You really need to follow the plan properly to give yourself a good kick start.
Breakfast can be boring, but eggs are the answer for most. When I got bored with them I started eating non-traditional foods in the morning. Leftovers, a chicken breast...once you get deprogrammed from the "usual" it's much easier. I usually make a crustless quiche and it lasts me the week.
Do go to Atkins site, and read "How to do Atkins". I really suggest buying the book and reading it. It will explain how things work.
Please come by and say hi....and start that journal... ;)

I believe that the best plan for you is whatever plan you feel you can stick with. I've only tried Atkins and South Beach, and I've lost weight with both. However, I feel I can follow South Beach a lot longer, so this is the right plan for me.
I'd suggest reading through the plans again... here's a link to a comparison:

Find one that you think you can live with, and try it out! As was suggested, start a journal, and keep reading the forums and asking questions!
Lots of luck to you!

I agree...start a journal and let everyone help you out and cheer you along. I know it's worked wonders for me. Feel free to stop by my journal anytime if you need to talk! For me, Atkins works best...no measuring or weighing...very easy to follow. But PLEASE read his book first. Don't just start eating all meat all the time...not a good idea!!
OK..if I did it right...I have started my journal.......G..I feel so stupid on this and I have been chatting online for the last 7yrs..lol..
I bought the Atkins banana nut muffin mix...was that smart?
